Transport Fever 3: Tycoon vs Sandbox, Deluxe and PC Requirements

Choose a logistics challenge or a creative transport network, then compare Deluxe extras and the hardware requirements.

Quick answer

Transport Fever 3 combines passenger and goods networks across road, rail, sea and air. Tycoon emphasises the business challenge; Sandbox is the creative alternative, with historical campaign missions providing another route. Deluxe adds content to Standard rather than being a different core game.

Choose the problem you want to solve

The publisher describes transport networks connecting towns and industries. Delays, detours, maintenance and cargo priorities matter alongside the routes themselves. The appeal is not only laying track: it is making connected services work.

Choose Tycoon if earning revenue and managing constraints is the reason you want a transport game. Choose Sandbox if designing a network is the main goal. The historical campaign offers missions rather than requiring you to invent every objective. This distinction is more useful than assuming the same mode suits every simulation player.

Does Deluxe solve a need you actually have?

The publisher describes Deluxe as Standard plus Deluxe content. Steam lists the game and Deluxe Upgrade together, including additional vehicles, landmarks, animals and maps.

Start by deciding whether the core transport simulation is what you want. Then inspect the particular extra vehicles and maps. A longer content list is not, by itself, a reason to buy the higher edition; someone interested in the specific extras has a different decision from someone learning the network systems for the first time.

Check the operating system before the edition

Steam also publishes separate Mac and Linux requirements. The Mac tier specifies Apple Silicon; do not use the Windows table as evidence that an Intel Mac is supported. Check the tier for your actual operating system before comparing edition prices.

If your machine is near minimum requirements, treat the specifications as an entry check rather than a promise about a large, developed network. We have not benchmarked late-game performance.
