Split Fiction on PC: Friend's Pass, One-Copy Co-op and Requirements

Do both players have to buy the game?

No. EA's Friend's Pass lets a full-game owner invite another player into the complete adventure without a second full-game purchase. The joining player installs Friend's Pass on their platform and uses the required platform account. It is a way to play together with an owner, not an independently owned second copy.

EA also lets two Friend's Pass users try the first two levels before either buys the full game. That is useful if you are still choosing a co-op partner: try the shared format first, then decide which person will own the game. Continuing beyond the demo requires one full-game owner.

What do you do together?

Mio and Zoe are writers trapped inside their own contrasting science-fiction and fantasy stories. The adventure changes abilities and situations as you move between those worlds, making cooperation central to progression. Steam lists both online and shared-screen co-op.

Choose your setup before buying: playing at one PC is a different arrangement from joining across separate machines. For online cross-play, EA says to enable cross-play and add your partner to your EA Friends List. Arrange the partner and account setup first rather than treating this as a solo story purchase.
