Where to Buy Digital PC Games
How we compare official stores, key sellers, bundles, region notes, and edition differences.
Start with platform ownership
A cheap key is not useful if it activates on the wrong platform, region, launcher, or edition. We make store, platform, region, and edition visible before any buy link. Steam, GOG, and Epic Games each require their own launcher, so buyers should check which store they already own before comparing prices.
Compare editions before price
Standard, deluxe, complete, expansion, and bundle offers can make two prices hard to compare. We separate edition contents from storefront price so you're comparing apples to apples. Always check whether the deluxe edition includes the expansion you care about, or if you'd be better off buying the base game on sale and the expansion separately.
Physical and rental options still matter
Physical console games and rentals still matter for some buyers, but most pages start with platform, edition, and digital availability first. Console players should compare digital storefronts, physical retail, and rental services like GameFly or Amazon Game Rentals.
Region locks and activation rules
Some stores sell region-locked keys that won't activate on your account. Others offer region-free keys at a higher price. Always verify region compatibility before purchasing, especially for third-party key sellers. GOG tends to be the most region-friendly, while Steam keys are often region-locked to specific territories.
When to wait for a sale
Steam, GOG, and Epic Games all run seasonal sales multiple times per year. If you're not in a rush, waiting for a sale can save 20-75% on most titles. Epic Games also gives away free games weekly, so some titles may be available for free before you ever need to buy them.
