Silksong on PC and Xbox — Play Anywhere and Licence Choices
Check which Silksong purchase covers Xbox and Windows PC, how another store's offer differs, and when you do not need a second copy.
Quick answer
Silksong's official Xbox product carries the Play Anywhere badge. Microsoft's rules give a participating digital purchase Xbox and Windows PC access at no additional cost. Check your existing entitlement before buying again. A different seller's 'PC/Xbox' title alone does not confirm it supplies the same product.
The official Xbox listing for Hollow Knight: Silksong displays Xbox Play Anywhere and lists PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S among its supported devices. Microsoft's Play Anywhere rules describe buying a participating digital game through the Xbox or Windows Store once and playing on Xbox and Windows PC at no additional cost.
Cross-entitlement, cross-progression and cross-play are different concepts. Microsoft describes cross-progression separately and does not require cross-play for the program. Cloud streaming and subscription access are also not the same thing as owning that digital product. This is a researched licence guide, not a gameplay review.

YUPLAY's Microsoft Store PC/Xbox offer
YUPLAY labels the linked Silksong listing PC/Xbox, names Microsoft Store as its platform and gives code-redemption instructions requiring a Microsoft account. It is not labelled as a Steam key. Confirm your country's eligibility and the licence terms on the exact listing before checkout; the game's official Play Anywhere support is not a record of our testing this reseller code.
When shopping through another seller, identify the activation service and exact licence supplied. A Steam or GOG offer should not be assumed to be the participating Xbox/Microsoft product. A seller can offer keys for different services, so its name alone does not answer the platform question.
Team Cherry lists several platforms and separate store links. For Xbox/Windows cross-entitlement, use the participating product's badge and Microsoft's rules, not the mere fact that versions exist on both systems. A title saying PC/Xbox is a reason to check the terms, not a substitute for them.
Before paying for a second copy
Identify where your existing copy activates and which account owns it. If it is the participating Play Anywhere digital product and already covers your Xbox and Windows PC, another purchase is unnecessary for that access.
A subscription that currently includes the game can provide access while its terms apply, but that is not a permanent purchase entitlement. Decide whether you want ownership, a different store's features or simply to play on a device already covered.
