GAME LIBRARY: The Two Towers Beginners Guide

This is an introduction to general MUD games and how you can play.. First of all these are the things you need:

1)The MUD client made by ZuggSoft
2)A music player like winamp in order not to bore your skull out and as we'll play LOTR based MUD get yourself blind guardian - nightfall in middle earth! 3)A nice fast reliable internet connection!
4)Much free time, it makes addiction!
5)If you are not a native english speaker middle to advance english, because you are gonna read a lot MUD is a text based thing so you have to get what you read..
6)A dictionary for the reasons above, I recommend wordreference.com
7)Patience. You are gonna die several times and re-level

MUD, Multi User Domains:
Meaning a world where many players play and role play at the same time in a text eviroment. The Two Towers is set in place the book called The Hobbit by Tolkien, you can see; "Tookland", "Shire Plains", "Misty Mountains", "Mordor"=> go if you dare eheh, "Belegost", "Thranduils", "Rhosgobel", "Edoras", "Erebor" "Dale" "Minas Tirith" "Osgilliath" "Bree" "Mirkwood" and such, of course it's possible that you cant come back from some of those places hehe. there is a map of arda so you can get the whole picture easier at the end of this page.. You can also "emote" just like in irc while talking in the game.

Take a look at the Zmuds alias stuff. like instead of typing "get all from corpse" each time you kill a mob you can make an alias called getl and assign "get all from corpse" command to it so you wont have to type those 5 words each time you kill, and I assure you wiill gonna type that too many times that you'll start screaming!!

Now If you downloaded Zmud this is how you can conenct to two towers and create your first character:

First click new on the top menu of Zmud, search for two towers from the listing then click connect. So you are in.. Creating your character isnt that hard as it tells you what to do. Before doing so though take a look at the official site of the MUD and get the picture about the races and proffesions. They are known stuff if you have read the books..Anyway for the ones that have no clue here's a quick peek..

Sindarin Elf: Magic and agility are their trade. (Wizard&Thief)
Silvan Elf: Just like Sindarin Elves but more powerful in strength less adept in magic. (Wizard&Warrior)
Dwarf: Very Strong, useless in magic, short and slow. (Warrior)
Hobbit: Tiny(really??lol) but very agile and moves fast..(Thief&Warrior)
Dunedain: Above avarage strength but below avarage magic abilities(Warrior&Ranger)
Dunlending: Just your avarage joe, jack of all trades but no excels in any.

OK after you pick your character you HAVE TO type 'help' and read the more detailed stuff. Nobody gonna tell you the obvious stuff written there so dont be lazy. Anyway here is some important commands: "look", "open", "hp", "shape", "kill", "wield","wimpy", "score", "skills", "inventory", "wear", "say", "tell", "gold"

These are the most basic and most used commands..

Lastly I wanna talk about my chracter a bit [brag lol]. his name is nit and he's a sindarin wizard at level 18 and aged around 25days. To be honest this is my second char on the server but also the one and only one that's active atm.Generally I wander around thranduils, dale, erebor, lothlorien and mirkwood. But you can see me anywhere in search of fame and gold :p I used to be a member of NAoG..

Guilds and Equipments

First as a beginner forget about creatinga new guild, it takes more gold than your wildest dreams and if it's not gonna contribute to the role play in the game you wont even enter the trail phase which lasts like one year lol. After this short notice I'll try to preview some guilds as best as I can. They all have some relation to tolkien in their theme but It'd take quite sometime describing each and I'm too lazy for it. So I'm gonna preview and tell you how you can get in one.

1- The Rimsilval: One of the oldest guilds around with a boring theme like to preserve information and the stuff bla bla bla..
You need to find 2 sponsors from the guild who wanna mail in favor of you to the GM, then you'll take some interviews and after you pass all of the there will be a vote.
Guild Align: Impartial
Minumum age&level: 8, 10
Alignment: Any
Race: Any
Proffesion: Any

2- Baruk Khazad-Dum: Can the dwarves settle in Azanulbizar'a again? As a wizard and an assassin wannbe I really dont care hehe..This guild is in works and trail so I really dont know what do they need but you obviously need to be a dwarf, that's the race not your height hehe! Other questions must be send to the guildmaster

3- The Knight's of Dol Amroth: They are the knights of South and One of the best guilds along with Valacirca and Amruin
Preq: Race: Dunedain olmak, level 5 or morel, +5 age, +moral alignment, NOT thief or assassin.

4- Valacirca: Valar's arm in Middle Earth'deki, members protect Lothlorien et al from evil guilds and mobs. Preq: at least 8 days of age, level 12 and heroic alignment. No Race preference. Wizard, Sherrif, Ranger and Warrior are accepted.

5- Amruin: The last defence of Edoras, so yes you guessed right they protect Edoras. sometimes with the help of Valacirca.
You need to mail their GM for membership.

There were good aligned guilds..

6- Meglivornoth: in short they do anything for the right price. be it evil or a good deed just mail their Gm for membership.

7- Durmanhoth: Assassin guild. and a big cliche like "if you are not a member then you are a target" wel..BOOHOO!
Preq: +5 age, +15 level, any race or prof.but assassin makes more sense:P.

8- Sons of Ulfang: Melkor and Sauron's dogs...eer servants..so these are the Bad guys eheh.
preq:Alignment, Shadowspawn of Mordor.

Onto the equipments:

-Glittering Ithilien Longsword: 255gp. in short GIL. First of all this is the best beginner sword of all times..But once and You can use this all day long.. It's a Good alignment sword with a diamond in its hilt. use it!
-Sapphire Sword: 300gp. There is a big blue sapphire in this swords hilt. It's quite powerfull. It's unqueness is this if you hit moral or better good aligned mbs it's gonna break faster. so it's good alignment sword.
-Red Sword: 438gp. An evil sword. Best thing about this is that it heals and removes some fatigue from you for each kill. It wears faster than GIL.
-Serpent Sword: 325gp. This sword has some nice gore emotes. It has a fanged point instead a one point resembling the teeth of the serpent.it's made of mithril and iron.
-Elven Short Sword: 150gp This finely crafted sword is a wonder to look upon.Light runescover the lustrous steel blade. This blade has been surelycrafted by elves. Both sides of the hilt have been fashionedinto the likes of leaves which give a magical look.Wornleather has been secured to the sword by means of a copperwire. Accompanying the fine blade is a fair sheath to store thesword when it is unwanted. Peering at the silver pommel younotice it has been crafted into a ghastly face.The eyes of thescreaming visage are burning with a bright fire.:).
-Large Slender Silver Blade of High Quality: 451gp. AThis large sword is perfectly balanced, it has a perfect weightand a perfect feel to it. The blade gleams with fresh steel,even though it has a slight red tint to it. You think you seeslight runes on the side....

Thats it for the swords now some misc eq:

-Backpack: Worst pack in game. But OK for newbies. According to a rumor in a place called stock there is a woman beggar who needs help and makes those for free if you help her [hint!].
-Goblin Backpack: 177gp. This is a large black canvas goblin backpack used for long treks through the mountains when the call for war arises. One of the best packs and has some inventory space.
-Dol Amroth Pack:This is a large pack, made for Dol Amroth soldiers' use whilein the field.It can hold a great deal, as the troops of DolAmroth are often out weeks at a time on patrol.The top flap ofthe pack is open.
-Orc Courier Pack: 305gp. This is a standard issue Orc courier pack.It is used to carry messages, packages, and courier supplies.It is very large and holds a great deal..

well that's it look outfor assassins and learn well your hunt breaks!!
